At Jezebel Studio, we believe that creating a welcoming, inspiring and safer space is a shared responsibility. Every student, teacher, volunteer and community member contributes to the atmosphere of the studio.

By participating in classes, workshops or other activities at Jezebel Studio, you agree to uphold the following community agreements. They exist to support everyone's learning, wellbeing and enjoyment of the space.

Whenever possible, we choose dialogue over punishment. However, if these agreements are repeatedly or seriously disregarded, Jezebel Studio reserves the right to refuse participation in future activities.

1. Respect our shared time

• Please arrive on time so classes can begin at the scheduled hour.

  This season, we're saying goodbye to "Jezebel time." We value everyone's time equally - students and teachers alike - and are committed to starting classes punctually. To support this, we will be stricter about late arrivals than in previous seasons.

  Students arriving more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start of class may no longer be admitted. This decision is at the teacher's discretion and exists primarily for safety reasons, as missing a significant part of the warm-up increases the risk of injury. In this case, your class credit will be considered used and cannot be refunded.

• You're welcome to arrive a little early, but we cannot guarantee the studio will be open more than 15 minutes before your class begins. Teachers use this time to prepare the space, themselves and the lesson. Unless they explicitly invite students in earlier, we ask that you respect this preparation time.

• You can cancel your class for free up to 6 hours before the start of class. After the 6 hours, you loose your credit and can’t be refunded. However; please still cancel your class when not attending to free up space for other people. This also includes the waitinglist.

2. Respect our shared values

• Safer Space Manifest

  You have read Jezebel Studio's Safer Space Manifest and agree to engage with the values it outlines. We ask everyone to actively contribute to making the studio a safer and more inclusive space by remaining open to dialogue, accountability and self-reflection whenever needed.

• Letter on Sex Work & Allyship

  You have read our Letter on Sex Work & Allyship and understand the values behind it. Pole dancing has deep roots in sex worker communities, and at Jezebel Studio we strive to acknowledge, honour and actively support that history. We ask everyone to approach these topics with respect, curiosity and a willingness to learn while helping create a community where stigma and discrimination are challenged rather than reproduced.

3. Respect each other

• Everyone's journey at Jezebel Studio is different. Please be mindful of this and avoid competitive, condescending or comparative comments or behaviour. Celebrate each other's progress instead of comparing it to your own.

• No one owns a pole. Pole dancing is a shared practice, and it is everyone's collective responsibility to make sure everyone gets equal time on the equipment. We also encourage rotating poles throughout class so everyone has the opportunity to dance from different positions in the room - including the front, if they wish.

• Spotting one another is an essential part of technical pole classes and an opportunity to build trust within the group. Always ask before touching someone, respect physical boundaries and touch preferences, and use the names and pronouns people ask you to use.

• Consent extends beyond spotting. Whether you're giving feedback, offering advice, filming, taking photos or initiating physical contact, always ask first and respect the answer you receive.

Filming

Pole classes are first and foremost a place to learn—not a content creation session.

Teachers will provide dedicated moments (at the end of class) for filming. Please respect these moments and avoid filming while instruction is taking place.

Whenever possible, frame your videos so other students are not visible. If someone appears in your footage, always ask for their consent before sharing it online.

4. Respect our shared spaces

Jezebel Studio is a collective space, and we all contribute to keeping it clean, welcoming and safe.

• No food or outdoor shoes are allowed in the pole space or open space.

• Clean your pole and mat after class or training.

• Clean up after yourself before leaving. Please don't leave cups, towels, tissues or personal belongings behind.

• Whenever possible, bring your own towel, water bottle and knee pads. We provide these items as a backup if you forget yours, but they are not intended for daily use. As a small community studio, we cannot keep up with the washing and cleaning required for everyone to rely on shared equipment.

• Avoid using body lotion or oils before pole classes, as they make the poles unsafe for everyone.

5. Respect the learning environment

Our teachers dedicate significant time and care to preparing every class. Help us create an environment where they can teach to the best of their ability.

• If you need to contact the studio or one of the teachers, please use the appropriate communication channels - preferably email - and respect teachers' privacy outside of working hours.

• During class, follow the teacher's lesson plan. While you may know more advanced tricks or different variations, we ask that you avoid going off on your own or teaching other students during instructional time. When the teacher creates moments for freestyle or individual exploration, you are of course welcome to use those moments as you wish.

• Please also register for the level that best matches your experience. Every class is carefully designed for a specific level.

  If you choose to join a higher-level class, your teacher will support you where possible, but it is your responsibility to understand and respect your own limits. Likewise, more advanced students are always welcome in lower-level classes to revisit foundations. If you do so, we ask that you genuinely work on those foundations rather than practising unrelated advanced skills or unintentionally shifting the focus of the class.

6. Communication and conflict

No community is free from misunderstandings or conflict. If something happens in or around Jezebel Studio that makes you uncomfortable - whether it involves another student, a teacher, a volunteer or another member of the community - we encourage you to speak up.

Please reach out to the teacher or team member you feel most comfortable talking to. We are committed to listening, taking concerns seriously and working together towards respectful solutions.

7. Liability

While we do everything we can to create a safe learning environment, participating in pole dance and movement classes always involves an element of personal responsibility and physical risk.

Please listen to your body, communicate any injuries or physical limitations to your teacher before class, and never feel pressured to attempt something that doesn't feel right.

Jezebel Studio cannot be held responsible for:

• Any injury or incident occurring before, during or after activities, whether inside or outside the studio.

• Theft, loss or damage of personal belongings. Please keep valuables with you and do not leave them unattended.
